Nicole began her career, however, as a reporter/anchor/producer for KAPP-TV in Yakima, WA and “Noticias Locales” on Hispanavision. She reported/anchored in English and in Spanish. Nicole had a running start in this business. Growing up in beautiful wine country in Northern California, she honed her ability to relay messages to large crowds at a young age...starting as a talent show magician in kindergarten! The entertainment value, coupled with the response of the crowd gave her a rush and she was hooked! Next, the youthful, enthusiastic talent went on to perform in plays, local musicals and competitive gymnastics, becoming quickly known as a well-rounded young woman. While attending Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, she continued to develop public speaking skills as a member of the Associated Student Body. That same year, she was selected as Sonoma County’s Junior MIss. She hosted local award shows and acted as a motivational speaker to countless teens.

After graduating with honors from high school, Nicole went on to attend Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. She had the privilege of interning at KNBC and VH1 news during that time. In the entertainment world, She hosted a TV pilot featuring musical artists, debated Spanish pop culture on a Los Angeles talk show, and even made a comedic debut on “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?“ She got her television news start as a reporter/anchor for her campus television and radio stations, and served as the News Director for both. In the classroom, she credits Mr. Michael Daniels, a retired KCBS, Los Angeles Executive Producer, as her mentor.

Experience in the news business doesn’t just mean covering the basics. While Nicole's experience does include reporting on education, health, crime, politics, minorities, entertainment and agriculture, it also includes a skill only some have... the ability to relate to all kinds of people. In a country where the Hispanic population is constantly growing, Nicole's Spanish-speaking skills and multiracial background allow her to delve deeply into stories others aren’t capable of telling. This talent allows her to relate to and be the voice for thousands of people in each place she lives.
