Gold award for Photojournalism from the Society of News Design won by Jeannie Grand for Art Direction, Robert Clark for Photography and Lisa Reitzel as Assistant Managing Editor for the photo of the Reginald Denny beating during the 1992 Los Angeles riots, sparked by the Rodney King incident. The photo, which was taken by Robert Clark from a news helicopter ran on the front page of the Daily Breeze and was the only photo of this incident taken by a print photographer.
