Welcome to Foxhide Farm, a small dairy goat operation in Bourbon County which is in North Central Kentucky, just north of Lexington.  The herd consists mostly of Alpines with a few other breeds represented as well.  The herd is mostly owned by myself, but some of the animals are also owned jointly with my best friend Kendal Butler.  Kendal is also responsible for much of the management and care of the kid crop as well as handling all of the chores when I am away from the farm.

Foxhide Farm is a certified goat dairy that ships milk to Central KY cheese makers. When we first began this project, there were no licensed goat dairies or cheese manufacturing facilities in Kentucky.    In July of 2008, we shipped the first licensed load of goat's milk ever in the state of Kentucky.  It was definitely a monumental day!

Our goal at Foxhide Farm now that we are operational is to breed the type of goat that can efficiently produce milk for a long level lactation.  I do not breed goats simply to show.  Rather, we breed goats that we are proud of and if they do well in a show ring, we're pleased.  If not, we still like the animal.  You'll notice that we've only been breeding goats for a short time, but the vast majority of the herd carries our herd name.  This is not a farm that simply buys what is hot for the moment.  Our goal is to one day make a positive impact on the Alpine breed.

I am also a licensed judge with the American Dairy Goat Association and I thoroughly enjoy traveling across the country and getting to see the wonderful goats and meet their owners!.
